The resort is located at Mabul island, Sabah, Malaysia. Mabul Island is located in the Celebes Sea, off the east coast of Sabah, Malaysia. It is part of the Semporna district, which is situated on the eastern coast of the state of Sabah in Borneo. Mabul Island is a popular destination for diving and snorkeling due to its clear waters and abundant marine life, including many species of fish, sea turtles, and colorful corals.
The weather in Sabah is generally warm and humid throughout the year, with temperatures ranging between 23°C to 32°C. The driest months in Sabah are typically March and April, while the wettest months are usually between October to January. The humidity level in Sabah is also generally high, ranging from 75% to 85% throughout the year. Overall, visitors to Sabah should be prepared for warm and humid conditions and the possibility of heavy rainfall, particularly during the rainy seasons.
The time zone in Malaysia is Malaysian Standard Time (MST), which is 8 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC+8). Therefore, if it is 12:00 PM (noon) UTC, the time in Malaysia would be 8:00 PM.
Bahasa Malaysia (national language) and English are widely spoken; Mandarin and some Chinese dialects (such as Hakka, Cantonese, Hokkien and Teow Chew) are also widely spoken.
You can get to Kuala Lumpur (capital city of Malaysia) or Kota Kinabalu (capital city of Sabah, one of the states in East Malaysia) and take a flight to Tawau which is located at the east coast of Sabah. From Tawau airport, you will go by land transfer for about 90 minutes to a fishing town called Semporna where you will be ferried to Mabul Island, the journey of which is about 30-40 minutes.
Our resort provides scheduled land and boat transfer from Tawau airport to Mabul Island as per below :
Arrival
Tawau airport to Semporna jetty : 0830 Hrs and 1030 Hrs
Semporna jetty to Borneo Divers Mabul Resort : 1000 Hrs and 1230 Hrs
Departure
Borneo Divers Mabul Resort to Semporna jetty : 1100 Hrs and 1330 Hrs
Semporna jetty – Tawau airport : 1230 Hrs and 1430 Hrs
If you are unable to make it for the scheduled transfer, we are able to arrange for a private charter transfer at additional fee
**No boat transfer will be arranged after 1800 HRS. The transfer schedules are subject to change, kindly contact us in advance your expected arrival time/departure time so we could make the necessary arrangement for you.
Standard room check in time is 1400 hrs.
Standard room check out time is 0930 hrs.
We accept VISA, MASTERCARD and AMERICAN EXPRESS. We also accept US Dollars, British Sterling Pounds and Euros.
Guests who wish to go to Sipadan will need to apply and pay for a permit. Due to the limitation of the Sipadan permit, our resort has been allocated with 12 permits per day. We can guarantee one day Sipadan trip for guests who stay at our resort for minimum 4 days 3 nights and subject to first come first served. Sipadan permit allocation is based on resort discretion.
Request for extra Sipadan permit will be subject to availability on a first come first served basis. Please contact our reservation team to find out the details and charges.
Children below 12 years old are NOT guaranteed for Sipadan permit even if they stay 3 nights and above.

In the event of cancellation, the following cancellation charges shall apply:
a. Confirmation date to 30 days before arrival – 30% of the trip’s full price will be forfeited.
b. 29 days to 15 days before arrival – 50% of the trip’s full price will be forfeited.
c. 14 days to 1 day before arrival – 75% of the trip’s full price will be forfeited.
d. No Show of customer – 100% of the trip’s full price will be forfeited.
Wi-Fi are available at dining hall area for guests, please be advised the quality and speed of the internet may not be as strong and reliable as what you are used to in more developed areas. Our resort is located on an island, which can make it challenging to provide a fast and consistent signal.
