FLY TO TAWAU
Tawau Airport is the nearest airport to the islands. You can reach Tawau by flying in from the following cities:

* Alternatively, if you are already in Sabah and looking for alternative options, you can opt to take the bus to Semporna, where the jetty is to get to Mabul Island. There are busses from Kota Kinabalu and Sandakan that will take you to Semporna, approximately 11 hours and 6 hours, respectively.
TAWAU AIRPORT TO SEMPORNA JETTY
An airport taxi takes roughly 90 minutes to get to Semporna town. This may be the best option if you are travelling in a group, as the fare can be shared between group members.

SPEEDBOAT FROM SEMPORNA TO MABUL ISLAND
The final leg of your journey will be a boat ride that takes roughly 35 to 45 minutes, depending on weather conditions.
